The number of people living longer, more active lives after finishing full-time work is growing. As the length of the average retirement stretches ever-longer, the benefits of a more flexible approach to retirement planning become more apparent.
Living Time recognised this fact and the need for a modern approach to retirement income planning. Through consumer research, we identified the need to provide an alternative solution to the most popular method of providing retirement income – Lifetime Annuities.
Our answer was to launch the Fixed Term Annuity – the first company in the UK to do so. Living Time Plans, provided by Alico, offer more flexibility than traditional Lifetime Annuities and provide simple, transparent benefits up to age 75 without locking clients in for life. They also provide a Guaranteed Maturity Amount at the end of the chosen term without the worry of investment performance risk.
The features of the Living Time Plans include:
- Four Plan options – the Living Time 75 Plan, Living Time Protected Rights 75 Plan, Living Time Income Plan or Living Time Protected Rights Income Plan
- Guaranteed income to age 75, subject to legislative limits
- Choice of income level at outset, from £nil up the maximum allowable under current legislation
- Guaranteed Maturity Amount at the end of the Plan term
- Choice of flexible death benefits
- A further plan option for trustees and managers of trust-based pension schemes - the Living Time Personal Investment Plan
